Have you ever had to grind the screw heads off to remove the gause? Try enlarging the hole the screw goes in. The stainless screw binds in the hole because it is not compatible with the aluminum flange it goes thru.
Use silicont on the aluminum flange the gause mounts on (let the silicone dry before assembly). Again, you are insulating the aluminum from the stainless gause to prevent corrosion build up between overhauls.
A quick fix for driping secondary check valves, turn off the variable restrictor, remove the diphragm from the front of the shaft, then use a welding rod to hold the valve open (gentley) as you force water in with garden nozzle (you will get wet!). Small pebbles/trash get caught and this usuall clears it out without having to remove the gause.
